Ever faced a death ray in your dressing gown?
Or done six impossible things before breakfast?
Or proved the non-existence of God with a fish in your ear?
Then here’s your chance to show that you are the hoopiest frood on this side of the galaxy.
All you have to do is to prove that you are the greatest hitchhiker fan on video in no more than 42 seconds, post it on YouTube and tag the video with the words ‘sixofthree’ and ‘AAT comp’ and then drop us an email at email@example.com. The video that is deemed by Penguin to demonstrate in the funniest or cleverest way how much of a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy fan the creator is will be chosen as the winner.
The winner will get two tickets to the Hitchcon 09 event on Sunday 11th October 2009, two nights’ bed and breakfast at the Marriott County Hall hotel for the weekend of the event, an evening meal at Skylon restaurant a personalised dressing gown and towel, as well as being crowned as the official no. 1 Hitchhiker fan at Hitchcon.

No purchase necessary to enter the competition. This competition is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, with the exception of employees of the Promoter, their families, agents and anyone else connected with this promotion. Entries must be received by 11.59 pm on 30th September 2009. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of posting or sending is not proof of receipt. Entries via agents or third parties are invalid. Entries become the property of the Promoter and are not returned. Only one entry per person. No entrant may win more than one prize. To enter create a video that is no more than 42 seconds in length based on the brief found at http://www.6of3.com. Upload the video to YouTube and tag the video with the words ‘sixofthree’ and ‘AAT comp’. When you have done this send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to inform the Promoter of your entry, remembering to include personal details including your name, email address and telephone number. All correctly completed entries will be forwarded to a judging panel made up of Eoin Colfer and representatives of the Promoter’s marketing team. The winner will be the entry that in the opinion of the judges demonstrates in the funniest or cleverest way how much of a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy fan the creator is. The prize for the winner is a personalised towelling dressing gown as chosen by the Promoter; two tickets to the Hitchcon 09 event, taking place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday 11th October 2009; crowning as the official No.1 Hitchhiker fan at Hitchcon 09; an evening meal for two people selected from the Pre Post Theatre Menu at Skylon restaurant accompanied by two glasses of wine; and a two night stay for two at the Marriott County Hall hotel over the weekend of 10th October 2009, bed and breakfast. The prize does not include travel to and from London, personal expenses, gratuities and all applicable taxes. All such expenses on receipt and use of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Both the winner and their chosen companion must be 18 years or over in the UK and must travel together. In the event that you cannot make these dates, no alternative dates will be possible and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to a substitute winner. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the promotion without notice. No correspondence will be entered into. The winner will be notified via email or post by 5th October 2009. The winner must claim their prize within 2 working days of the Promoter sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules. By entering this competition each entrant confirms that his/her entry is their wholly-owned creation and to the extent that such entry makes use of any third party materials (including but not limited to music) that these have been fully cleared unless they are no longer protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. Entrants will keep the Promoter harmless from any claims in relation to their entry that the entry infringes the personal or proprietary right of any other person. By submitting an entry, each entrant grants to the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to edit, publish, translate, modify, adapt, make available, distribute and broadcast the entry throughout the world in any media now known or hereafter invented, including but not limited to broadcasting the entry online, on any television channel chosen at the discretion of the Promotion, and at the Hitchcon 09 event scheduled to take place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday 11th October 2009.
